The International Folk Festival “Grand Alegria” is a non-competitive sample of traditional dances performed by folklore groups. At the festival may participate in children and youth folklore dance groups, modern dance groups, choirs, as well as groups and performers from other art styles. The age of the participants is not limited.
The festival will be held in Calella a seaside town on the Costa del Maresme, 58 km northeast of Barcelona. It is a town with more than 650 years of history, and about three kilometers of beaches with clean sand and intensely blue waters. Its location makes it a first-class coastal destination awarded with the European quality Blue Flag - Calella beach.
The groups will be accommodated in 3*/4* Hotels in Calella and Costa Brava on a Full Board with 3 meals per day on a buffet basis (breakfast and dinner). The groups will be accommodated in rooms with 3 and 4 beds with their own bathroom. Each Group can have only 2 double rooms which can be used for the Leaders and Drivers. On 25 participants, every 26th participant is free of charge.
Extra charges for Double Room: 5 euro/person/day | Single Room: 20 euro/day | Extra night (7 nights + only): 45 euro/person/day (Depending on the hotel you choose. The price for the extra night can vary. Please ask your travel agent for details.)

The festival organizers will organize the transport for the groups coming by plane by picking them up from the airport, during the festival days, and back to the same airport. The cost of the transportation will be covered by the group and will be additionally agreed upon according to their number.
The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city. The Parking for the buses is paid for by the group at the rate set at the parking place. (approximately 25 euros per day).
The participation fee can be paid via bank transfer or in cash on the day of arrival. Each participant group should pay 30 % in advance after receiving the official invitation. After this date (22.05.2023) advance payments are not refunded. In case of a price increase, due to the global crisis, we reserve the right to adjust the festival fee.

The groups coming by bus can use their own transport all the time during the festival and the small journeys around the city. Any expense caused by the usage of the bus (accident, robbing, breakdown, etc) should be covered by the vehicle’s insurance. Each member must have travel insurance policy.
The Parking for the buses is paid by the group at the rate set at the parking place. (approximately 20 euros per day).
